Day 8: A song about drugs or alcohol

When I think about drugs and alcohol I think of the late great Rick James. NOT for his usage but for this song. I love this song because if you didn't know that Mary Jane was another term for weed you would think he was talking about a women. I think this is a great love song even though he's talking about weed. Cause I know how much love he has for Mary Jane. I can relate. This song is full of metaphors which I love in my music. I also love that it reminds me of my favorite Mary J Blige. Not only did she sample it but Jane is her middle name. It's also something you can dance too with that funky guitar in the back. This song also reminds me of Danielle. This is one of her go to songs she always play when she got the Aux. Like I'm listening to the song as I type and he's making it seem like Mary Jane is a thot. He said "she's not the kind of girl you can tie down she likes to spread her love" if you look at the song in a perspective of Mary Jane being a women you would think she's a thot. I love it. There are other songs about drugs that followed but this to me is #1. Timeless gem.
