Day 9: A song that makes you happy

If you know me you know that I like to be in my bag so again this post was very difficult. For this day I decided to do it a little different. I started by looking up the definition of happy. Google defines it as feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. In addition to being fortunate and convenient. I realized that I don't really identify with that definition so I came up with my own. My definition of being happy is simply being care free. Care free of the negativity from the world and even from within. I then put my music on shuffle and kept hitting next until I stopped at a song that made me "Happy." After going through about how ever many songs I ended right at square one nothing inspired me. I then asked myself what was I listening too the last time I was super duper happy for a lengthy period of time? Again ended up with shit cause college, bills, and the adult life took away any happiness I have left. I'm dragging it but still. So Finally I went to my "Top 25 most played" playlist in apple music and right at the top was Anita Bakers Angel. I'm surprised that I didn't think of this song sooner. This is literally my sound for all my alarms. When I added it I said that I wanted something relaxing to wake me up that will make me want to get through this day. This song automatically puts me in a good mood. When it comes on you can't get me to stop singing. The lyrics are so authentic I know because I've felt this way before (another reason as to why I can relate). This is also one of them songs that automatically reminds of me someone. unfortunately that friendship is dead but the memories live on with this song. Fun fact I started listening to Anita Baker because Mary credits her for helping her get into the music business. long story short Mary covered Anita caught up in a rapture album and used that as a demo to get signed to uptown records. Also my step dad loves her.
