Made in America Festival 2017

My first time ever at the Made in America Festival was so lit. So the Made in America festival is in Philly. I drove there with my step pops, and uncle. Clear skies the whole drive. It literally started raining as soon as we got there and didnt stop until the next day. But that didn't stop most of the fun. We still went to the festival because we came all this way. We just knew that rain was something we had to deal with. Which we did, to an extent.

Day 1 consisted of some random acts that were pretty decent and some known acts. Such as London on da track, Cardi B, and Migos. I think Cardi was my favorite out of all the performances that day. I was surprised at how comfortable she looked on the stage because she's a new artist. Her stage presence is so natural. She came out telling jokes. I was dying when she said I don't have on Fashion nova today LMAO. But nah she reminds me of my cousins. I also felt proud to be from the Bronx during that moment. Amongst being a minority from the Bronx. Because i've always admired people who came from where I come from and had wild dreams and the ball to chase them. Cardi did that and at such a young age. No matter what age, race, or gender we should all be inspired by her grind and we have to protect her at all costs.

Migos was cool also. I liked when they played their old shit. I forgot about all the songs they had. They played Hannah Montana LMAO. I wasn't expecting that so it was a pleasant surprise. I think Migos was the last performance for me that day because after being rained on literally for like four hours I was ready to go and my body was about to collapse. & I had an edible I was bout to die if I didnt leave. I really wanted to see J coles performance but I just couldn't. I was so tight when I saw his performance on Instagram. I was just like I shoulda been there. smh. So next show he has I'm definitely going to it. I slept good that night tho.

Day 2 begins a little later. We didnt try to get there so early because we wanted to save our energy for the last performance, Jay-z. oh and my poor flyknits were cooked from that mud. we were literally sliding in mud in addition to being wet the WHOLE time we were at the festival. But imma throw them in the wash real quick. Igh so boom day two was automatically better than day 1 when there wasn't any rain on the forecast. It was also hotter so I threw on the shorts like I had planned for day 1 and we headed out around 3ish.

The first person I saw was Pusha T. If you been keeping up you'd know that I saw him at the Roots Picnic but it was cool to see him again. He played mad old GOOD MUSIC hits that I forgot about. Most of the songs he performed made me think of Rashid cause Kanye is his pops and he loves GOOD MUSIC.

Then I saw 21 Savage. I remember 2 moments from his set. When he performed Bank Account cause thats my shit and idk why. Also when that dude climbed up a pole then fell and busted his shit. LOL. I put that video on Instagram and it got like over 40,000 views. I'm not lying either.

I was so surprised at how much I like the Chainsmokers set. I only wanted to hear Closer but then they started playing other shit and I was actually bumping. Being in white plains at the bars made me appreciate their music a lot more. They had fire works and it was a part in their set when one of the members "played" music from their phone and they played my neck my back. It was an "accident" but it was funny. I just felt like I was at Brother Jimmy's during their set tho.

If you pay attention you'll see New Knicks player Kyle O'Quinn during the day 2 video. He was just chilling with a camera like he a regular person. I like that type of atmosphere tho. We were just there to have fun and enjoy music. even tho I did see like three fights.

So of course my favorite part of the whole weekend was Jay-Z. Thats really the G.O.A.T. he knows how to put on a show. Off rip when he came out I was like he looks so comfortable. He looked as if he lived on stage and that this wasn't just a job. It seemed like he really loved what he does and I felt that even from where I was standing. Again that could've been the edible cause I had some more on day 2 but I doubt he does this just for the check. Which is how it should be in anything you do. You should love

what you do to produce the best possible output. In this instance its music.

My guy really performed on two stages. He did a normal show per usual. Opened with some new shit ended on a sad note and a buffet full of his old songs in between. I really liked how he ended the first set. He sung Encore and dedicated it to Chester Bennington and to anybody going through something. It was type sad and I definitely didnt want him to end it. He says goodnight, thank you all that and everybody is pouring out. Literally like no more than 3 minutes later you see lights come on and here him. Why is he on a whole other stage? He performed a lot of old shit Like Best of me feat Mya and others. But what really got my attention was when Meek Mill came out and performed Dreams and Nightmares. The park was shouting "hold up wait a minute." I think everybody should go to a Jay-z concert because it was dead lit. A lot of artist look for gimmicks and shit to add to their set and he didnt and don't have to do that. That was the greatest live performance I've ever seen. I'm thinking about buying tickets to the 4:44 tour.

The vibe wasn't what I expected tho. I was expecting a more adult crowd. There was so many kids. Like young teenagers who couldn't hold their liquor dressed up in American gear. It was still cool. Overall I loved the festival and already recommend it. I'm going again next year and this might be the being of an annual thing.
