Melanin Magic

I loved this song from jump. Remy Ma sampled Mint conditions Break-in my heart. Thats one of my favorite songs ever. The drums and vocals on that song is untouchable. Don't @ me. I digress. But the thing with sampling is its either hit or miss. You can body the sample or destroy it. Remy bodied it. Chris Brown on the hook is fire too. I like how he switched up the flow a little bit from the original.

& I love the message. It's promoting self love for people who are darker skinned. I feel like thats needed in our community because we are taught that dark is ugly and the lighter you are the cuter you are. Which is just completely wrong because I know some chopped lightskin people. I applaud Remy for putting this message in her song because as a person in the limelight I feel that you have an obligation to try to help and advance your people. This song isn't a million man march but its a start. It gets people started.

The first two singles are fire so I'm waiting for the complete Remy album now.
